Etiquettes! The least you must know

Businesses have gone increasingly global in the past decade. In the corporate world, as a business person you often need to have meetings and dinners with your clients who may be from any part of the world. Learning international business etiquettes is as important as your sales pitch and presentation. It leaves a subtle positive impression of your personality on your client. Today, I will be discussing some of these etiquettes that you do need to know for your corporate life. Why do you need table manners and etiquettes at all? The truth is that you need them for your own good. It will help you be comfortable even in an unknown surrounding and make others comfortable as well. Where should you seat yourself? Musing on How Brands Grow?

Brands have been managed for years. Some brands outlive others, not because of their history but by the proper growth strategies. Growth of the brand is undoubtedly the most important thing for a Brand Manager. They would run several campaigns, spend bucks on mass advertisements to get double-digit growth in their sale. But have you wondered why do some brands fail even after using the best strategies they have? That might be because of a few misbeliefs and unknown facts about the art of branding itself.  F ew months back, I read the book  'How Brands Grow'  by  Byron Sharp . I would like to share a few points from the book that interested me. Law of Buyer Moderation :   Light-Medium buyers for a brand are more in number but their frequency for buying is less. They still result in a huge chunk for the...

The Classical Indian Dance Form : Kathak

The term Kathak is  rooted in the  Vedic  term  Katha  (Sanskrit: कथा) which means "story, conversation, traditional tale".  Kathak  refers to one of the major classical dance form primarily found in northern India, with a historical influence similar to Bharatanatyam in south India, Odissi in east India and other major classical dances found in South Asia. The genre developed during the Bhakti movement, the trend of theistic devotion which evolved in medieval Hinduism. The Kathakars communicate stories through rhythmic foot movements, hand gestures, facial expressions and eye work. As Kathak is popular both in Hindu and Muslim communities the costumes of this dance form are made in line with traditions of the respective communities. Presently, there are four prominent gharanas for Kathak. 1. Lucknow Gharana- Lucknow Gharana came into existence during the reign of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah in 19th century. Style:  Graceful movements and natural ...
